History

Submersible Systems, Inc. started life in 1990 and commenced with the design and construction of the TRV series of inspection ROVs (001, 002, 003), targeting the GOM as the primary area of operation.

This was cut short due to an agreement between Submersible Systems, Inc. and American Oilfield Divers to purchase SSI's assets including the employment of Wolfgang Burnside as ROV Manager to develop an ROV Department within AOD.

In 1993, SSI recommenced operations utilizing the Sea Owl MKIII and RCV 225 inspection ROV systems targeting the Platform Inspection/Pipeline Survey market.

In 1996, SSI was awarded a 1500 km buried pipeline/platform/riser inspection contract in Mexico. The contract was successfully completed with zero down time logged for the new MaxRov ROV System which SSI purchased for this particular contract.

In 2005, SSI has two fully operational ROV Systems, although primarily inspection ROV's, they are both fitted with 5 function hydraulic manipulators which can undertake basic construction tasks (ROV shackles, snap hooks, 1" wire cutter).

The MaxRov is a simple "live boat" system without the complexity of a cage. The 1000 meter MaxRov system has dual cameras (B/W & Color), sonar and C.P. capability at all times. Fitted with dual 5-function RHD manipulators, the MaxRov to date is still a very versatile ROV.
